God of War is amazing. I'm not sure any game beats it when it comes to combining excellent presentation, story and engaging gameplay/game mechanics. I like other aspects maybe slightly more in individual categories, but as a total package I think God of War is the mark that developers should be aiming for. It's an excellent game from top to bottom.
The way they designed it with essentially no loading screens at all was amazing. It's just so well executed and makes it really easy to sink hours into it.
Open world games are great but I've gotten really tired of every game needing to be a giant open world. Sometimes a game with a smaller scope works better and God of War is a perfect example of that. There is always something entertaining happening and it's an easy game to come back to if you have to shelf it for a week or two due to being an adult. Wish more games considered this.

Code Vein, Battle Chasers Nightwar, Atelier Ryza 1 & 2, Mortal Kombat 11, Remnant from the Ashes…This list is more like best sellers & ignored anything you had to dig deeper than looking at a sales chart. (Although I realize MK 11 would be a best seller, don't know how they missed that game, that makes zero sense.)

If you playd The Last of Us first game and liked chracters and story, do not play The Last of Us 2 it have nothing to do with the first game. I won't say it bad because I did not play the game, only watched the story side, so from story side it's bad really bad. Mechanics and graphics seems good, but again did not play so nothing to tell about this parts.
